In alignment with the Financial Literacy Guidelines for Banks and Financial Institutions issued by Bangladesh Bank, Southeast Bank PLC has continued its commitment to promoting financial literacy and financial inclusion across the country. As part of this initiative, the Bank organized Financial Literacy Programs through its Branches and Uposhakhas nationwide to enhance public awareness on safe digital financial services and responsible cashless transactions.
Bangladesh Bank announced the following theme for Financial Literacy Programs:
Raise public awareness about the benefits of safe, secure, and convenient cashless transactions.
Encourage the use of digital banking services, including Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Debit and Credit Cards, and Bangla QR-based digital payments.
Educate customers on safeguarding confidential information such as OTP, PIN, Password, and CVV to prevent fraud and cybercrime.
Promote financial inclusion by encouraging the safe use of digital financial services and reducing reliance on cash transactions.
Key Highlights:
Programs conducted at branches included interactive sessions and awareness materials on digital and cashless banking.
Special attention was given to ensuring active participation of women customers.
Participants received guidance on the use, benefits, and secure operation of Bangla QR, helping customers and merchants build confidence in adopting digital payment systems for their daily transactions.
Awareness was raised on the secure use of Mobile and Internet Banking, including protection against suspicious links, fraudulent phone calls, fake SMS, phishing attempts, and other cyber fraud.
The programs highlighted the advantages of cashless transactions, such as reducing the risks associated with carrying cash, ensuring faster and more convenient payments, and promoting wider acceptance of digital payment methods.
Through these initiatives, Southeast Bank PLC continues to support Bangladesh Bank's vision of strengthening financial literacy, expanding financial inclusion, and promoting a secure digital payment ecosystem.
