SMEs as well as large enterprises that have introduced, developed or promoted products, services or eco-friendly processes and technologies that either seek to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change by reduction of green house gases and work towards protection, conservation of nature and sustainable development, will be eligible for this award. Organizations that are engaged in environmental research, legislative advocacy, good environmental governance and the like will also be eligible to be considered for this award. An initiative to be eligible for the award should be in operation for a reasonable period of time.

Organizations working on Sustainable Community Development and/or Poverty Reduction at local level will be eligible for this award. Such organizations are expected to be working for improvement of the living condition of communities in the natural disaster prone areas or in ultra poor communities and for sustainable development. Any public sector organization, non-profit organization, NGO, educational institution, trust, community club, cooperative, commercial organization run on voluntary initiative, community-run initiative will also be eligible for the award. An initiative to be eligible for the award should be in operation for a reasonable period of time.

Individuals working on Environmental Management, Sustainable Community Development and/or Poverty Reduction at local level will be eligible for this award. Such individuals are expected to be working for improvement of the living conditions of communities in the natural disaster prone areas or in ultra poor communities and for sustainable development.
